I found the process to be constructive, focused and deliberate. Each step built on the one before and helped me to gain focus and momentum in my process. I was able to articulate my competitive advantage in a succinct and clear way.

Success Criteria
This process is designed to help you create a defined and prioritized set of criteria by which to gauge opportunities and create satisfaction in your career and business endeavors. By developing this criteria independent of your current situation, you will increase the likelihood of creating objective criteria upon which to base future decisions. This unique process will assist you in integrating your personal values, skills, life purpose, desired legacy, compensation and lifestyle needs into a powerful decision-making tool and guide. Even those who have used multiple career assessment tools find this to be a profound clarifier of their life direction.
Satisfaction Gauge
This gauge provides one of the many ways to utilize the information gathered in the Success Criteria work. The Satisfaction Gauge helps you to identify patterns in choosing work and business opportunities. It serves as a snapshot of your overall career satisfaction, and helps to surface areas for future focus in our coaching.
Clarification of Marketability
This process is designed to help you identify, internalize and articulate the uniquely marketable skills that you possess. This information can be applied in a multitude of ways, and will be experienced in a different way for each client. For most of us, the experience will build confidence, improve networking and interviewing skills, and will help refine target marketing efforts.
By developing a core competencies list independent of your current situation, you will increase your ability to secure positions or opportunities of choice. Your resume will then be streamlined, focused, and powerfully persuasive. You will stand out from the sea of paper because you are focused and your marketing efforts are targeted to those who wish to “buy” your skills and capabilities.
Networking Script
The purpose of developing a networking script is to distill your marketing message into a fluent and concise message of about 30 seconds. This is important for job seekers, salespeople, and business executives alike.
The core of this “script” can be used in many ways, including the “elevator speech” you use at networking events, telephone marketing, outgoing voice mail message, author’s byline for articles, and so on. Within that 30 or so seconds you need to convey who you are in a way that is friendly, brief and compelling to the listener. Even introverts can become comfortable with a networking script when this process, which leverages your natural style, is carefully followed.
Ideal Company Profile
The purpose of this homework is to create a profile of the ideal company for you to affiliate with. When creating this profile, it is important to think like a potential shareholder. After all, you will be investing some of the best years of your life contributing to the success of the next company you choose to work for. Together we will identify the industry, size, location, culture and other characteristics of the ideal company so that your research and interviewing process are focused and effective.
Ideal Company Research
The purpose of this homework is to create a manageable target universe for marketing purposes. This process will help you to identify a core group of companies with shared needs and characteristics so that you can hone a “common language” in your networking, prospecting, and marketing efforts. The information we gather will be used to rule out industries and companies that are unlikely to value and pay for your skills, service or product.
Position Profiling
Many job seekers find the Position Profiling process to be a refreshing change from traditional attempts at “trying to make a round peg fit in a square hole.” This process honors your true skills and assists you in discovering which skills are valued in the job market. This five-step process will help you turn your job search into a proactive, versus reactive approach, with clarity, direction and a focused plan that assists you in speaking persuasively to employers’ urgent needs.
Resume & Cover Letter Development
This work will help you to not only produce an interview-winning resume, but also help you internalize and articulate your unique value proposition to potential employers. You will hone your message in a tightly written document that is future-focused and accomplishment oriented. Your resume and cover letter will stand out from the stack and invite dialogue and interest.
Interview Strategies
Do you know how to set the proper context for job interviews? There are three major steps that most job seekers fail to take that shift the focus of interviews from job applicant to strategic business dialogue. Taking these steps creates significant advantage and leads to better job offers.
Due Diligence
Before you invest in a stock or mutual fund you read the prospectus, right? When you accept a job offer, you are agreeing to invest your most precious assets, your time and mental capital. Before taking such a step, it is critical to conduct research on a prospective employer’s relative position in their market, the management teams’ background and philosophy, and employee satisfaction. In this process you will discover ways to gain insights beyond those available in the standard interview format.
Salary Negotiation
By the time you arrive at the compensation discussion, you have hopefully positioned yourself to receive the best possible offer. What other steps can you take to ensure the highest salary and most favorable total compensation without dampening the enthusiasm of your next boss? Find out how to maintain balance and perspective in the negotiation process and arrive at a winning solution for all parties.
